Who we are
Technology and culture, hand in hand
LinuxBCN was born in 1999, when the internet was a promise and Linux, a bet on the future.
Since then we have accompanied cultural, artistic and social projects in building their digital presence. Not as technical providers — as strategic allies.
What makes us different
We specialise in the cultural and artistic environment.
We know the real needs of a music band, a self-managed space, a photography collective or a neighbourhood business with values.
Not because we’ve read about it — because we’re part of it.
We have worked with and for projects such as Nau Bostik, 9barrisimatge, Llumàtics, 112Books, the Barcelona Blues Festival, Casalprospe and many others over 25 years.
A team, not a freelancer
LinuxBCN is a heterogeneous team coordinated from Nau Bostik, the self-managed sociocultural space in the Sagrera neighbourhood of Barcelona.
We work with specialist collaborators: journalists, content strategists, designers, photographers, proofreaders and translators.
A network built through years of shared projects.
Our principles
Free software. Privacy and data sovereignty. Technology at the service of the project, not the other way around. Sustainable, accessible and secure systems.
We don’t follow trends. We don’t apply templates. We don’t recommend what we wouldn’t use ourselves.
